New Kayak & Outdoor Gear Retailer Finds Home in West Asheville

Introducing Waterways, Asheville’s newest kayak shop dedicated to providing knowledgeable service and quality paddlesports products for all activities and skill levels.

Asheville, NC, September 12th, 2019 – Waterways, North Carolina’s newest paddlesports shop, announced the official grand opening of its showroom in West Asheville on Haywood Rd.

The 5,000 square foot retail shop features kayaks and accessories designed for fishing and recreational use by popular brands such as Feelfree and 3 Waters Kayaks. In addition to paddlesports gear, the retail shop offers general outdoor recreational equipment such as waterproof dry bags, coolers and apparel.

The location of the store was strategically chosen to compliment the region’s passion for the great outdoors along with its proximity to lakes and rivers nestled within the Blue Ridge mountains.

“Making the decision to open this shop in western North Carolina was based off the simple fact that both residents and visitors love to spend time enjoying the great outdoors,” said Maddie Gilmer, Waterways Store Manager. “We specifically chose West Asheville because it was centrally located and wanted to take a stab at establishing our own unique footprint in this incredibly fun and vibrant community.”

In addition to being a retail shop, the showroom will be used as a central hub for hosting seminars, guest speakers and special events focusing on both paddlesports and outdoor recreation in general.

“Our goal is to provide our customers with more than just quality products and service,” added Joe Mongno, Store Manager and Paddlesports Enthusiast. “We want to make sure they leave our store with the knowledge they need to confidently enjoy their outdoor adventures.”

The shop also serves as a showroom in partnership with Feelfree US, a local distributor of paddlesport products by Feelfree, 3 Waters and Seastream kayaks, Jonny Boats and other brands. Customers, dealers and other interested parties are able to see and experience the brands and models that Feelfree US offers through all of its North American channels.
